OBJECTIVE Strengthening of weak subsoil beneath a building constructed on a raft foundation at a fuel station. Restoration of horizontal alignment of the structure following differential settlement, with one side subsiding by more than 35 cm (severe tilt).
TECHNOLOGY Soil improvement using controlled hydrofracturing combined with high-precision foundation lifting (slab lifting) by means of the PolyJET® injection method.
MATERIAL PolyJet FT structural expanding polyurethane resin for soil injection, with a reaction time of less than 30 seconds.
DESCRIPTION Geodetic leveling revealed significant differential deformation of the raft foundation slab, with settlement exceeding 35 cm along one axis of the building. Site investigations determined that the progressive deformation was associated with groundwater influence and the presence of weak man-made (technogenic) soils. The resulting structural distortion led to substantial operational restrictions.
RESULTS Ground improvement was performed beneath the entire slab area and along the perimeter to create a stable load-bearing base prior to structural lifting operations. Subsequently, controlled high-precision slab lifting was executed to restore the foundation to the design elevation. As a result:
The foundation slab was realigned within allowable horizontal tolerances;
Further development of differential settlement was eliminated;
Full structural serviceability was restored.
