OBJECTIVE
Soil strengthening beneath an existing retaining wall to a depth of 2–3 meters.
TECHNOLOGY
Soil improvement using controlled hydrofracturing (injection mode) with the PolyJET® method.
MATERIAL
PolyJet FT structural expanding polyurethane resin for soil injection, with a reaction time of less than 30 seconds.
DESCRIPTION
Site investigation revealed insufficient bearing capacity of the soil foundation beneath the retaining wall.
Under continued service conditions, this deficiency could have led to loss of structural stability and posed risks to adjacent structures.
RESULTS
Dynamic cone penetration testing (DCPT) was performed to assess in-situ soil conditions.
Engineering calculations were carried out to determine the required bearing capacity parameters. A two-component resin injection program was implemented using small-diameter injection lances installed at an inclined angle beneath the foundation.
Post-treatment geotechnical verification testing confirmed that the design bearing capacity of the improved soil mass had been successfully achieved.
